The Croft Artist’s Book
A day of walking, noticing and making your own little piece of the croft to take home.

Spend a slow, creative day immersed in the landscape of the croft, gathering inspiration from the natural world and transforming it into your own unique concertina artist’s book.
We’ll begin with tea and something homemade before heading out for a gentle walk around the land. Along the way, you’ll be invited to slow down and notice the small details that are so easily missed: the textures of stone, wild plants, feathers, shifting light and the quiet sounds of the landscape.
Back in the yurt, we’ll turn these observations into a one-of-a-kind concertina artist’s book. With gentle guidance, you’ll explore sketching, mark-making, natural textures, collage and words, creating a visual record of your time on the croft. No previous artistic experience is needed. This is about looking closely, experimenting freely and enjoying the creative process, rather than striving for a perfect finished artwork.
We’ll pause for a relaxed homemade lunch before spending the afternoon developing your creations. You might fill your concertina book with drawings, maps, colours, pressed leaves, rubbings, little pieces of writing or simply the things that caught your eye during the day. As the pages unfold, your book will become a personal journey through the landscape, with every fold revealing a new observation, memory or moment of inspiration.
At the end of the afternoon, we’ll take time to share our creations before you take your finished artist’s book home — a beautiful, handmade keepsake that captures something of your day on the croft and the things you discovered along the way.
