Our story

Dòigh Nàdair — the way of nature.

A beautiful Gaelic phrase, Dòigh Nàdair (doe‑na‑dare) means the way of nature. It's how we want to live, eat and care for this small patch of Highland ground.

Living the good life — slowly

Have you ever thought about living the good life? 🐝 🐑 🐖 🐄 We have — and we're right at the start of our journey to grow and raise almost all of our own food: honey, beef, pork, lamb, eggs and fresh produce, here in Lairg, Sutherland.

Our first pigs are friendly kune kune — a heritage New Zealand grazing breed, well suited to a wet Highland croft. The hens are settling into their roost, the herb beds are taking shape, and the bees are next on our list.

We share our progress, set‑backs and small victories on our Facebook page — and we host open days for anyone curious about crofting, smallholding or just a quiet wander.
